The Canadian Football League 2021 regular season just completed Week 3. Now, we've got some solid data to look at and we can make some better educated judgements.
The big news of the week was the continued rise of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. For the first time in seven season, they've started out a perfect 3-0. Since the previously top-ranked Winnipeg Blue Bombers suffered its first loss of the season, the Roughriders remain as the only undefeated team in the league. Predictably, that shakes up this week's Power Rankings.
Beyond the top spot, there are two teams with 2-1 records, three teams at 1-2, two teams at 1-1 and one team — the Hamilton Tiger-Cats — still without a win at 0-2 as they come out last week's bye.
The other big news from early week is the postponement of the upcoming Winnipeg-Toronto game, due to some positive COVID tests. As a precaution, that game will not be played on Thursday. Look for a rescheduled date to be announced later. Let's hope this won't be a common thing as we move deeper into football season.
Nonetheless, here’s the CFL breakdown – with comments -- we head into Week 4. What follows are the complete power rankings #1 through #9 according to the official CFL website:
Also note that we'll post Week #3 picks and predictions from our in-house handicapper Nick on Thursday morning.
