Toronto aims for back-to-back wins in Los Angeles tonight when they face the Clippers.  The Raptors have been hot lately, winners of four straight

Two nights after trouncing the Lakers, the Toronto Raptors (38-30) face the other resident team in the same building when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers (36-35).

Toronto is playing their best basketball of the season at the moment.  They began the current road trip with an easy win at San Antonio.  Then, the opposition got tougher when they took down the NBA's top team beating the mighty Suns in Phoenix. The very next night, the Raptors whipped the Nuggets in Denver.  Then, they flew West and dismantled the Lakers on Monday, who are currently in a tailspin.

The Clippers should pose a more formidable challenge.  They are 20-14 at home.  This will be the second game between the two teams this season.  The Raptors beat the visiting Clippers 116-108 on New Year’s Eve.

Toronto currently rests in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, just one game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers.  The top six in each conference are guaranteed a playoff berth.

Meanwhile, the LA Clippers are returning home for just one game after going 1-2 on a 3-game trip to Atlanta, Detroit and Cleveland.  Los Angeles is coming off a 120-111 overtime loss to the Cavaliers.

Like the Raptors, the Clips also are in play-in game territory in the current standings, but their path to possible 6th place in the standings is far more challenging than the Raptors.  As of Wednesday, the Clippers were six games behind the sixth-place Denver Nuggets.

Spreads.ca lists Toronto as -1.5 favourites.  The betting total is 218.5.

Tip off is at 6:40 pm PT.
