For your consideration....
Are you stuck at home and itching to bet on something, but you don’t know exactly what games to zero in on? I don’t blame you; the sports restart has brought us so much action 24/7 that our heads spin while trying to master our channel surfing skills.
I will try to make your life slightly easier by recommending three games/matches of the day in random sports to put your money on. Let’s get started!
All spreads according to what’s posted this morning on https://play.spreads.ca/
NHL Western Conference Playoffs, Game 2
Arizona Coyotes vs. Colorado Avalanche (Avalanche up 1-0).
Pick: Arizona [+170]
Game 1 was an Avalanche of goals in the third period, three in a minute and a half to be exact, and Colorado won deservedly after outshooting the Coyotes 40-14. I expect Arizona’s goalie Darcy Kuemper to remain hot and the Coyotes to bounce back with a convincing win to even up the series.
MLB Regular Season Matchup
Boston Red Sox @ New York Yankees
Pick: Yankees [-350]
Enough with the underdogs, let’s go with the favorite this time. Gerrit Cole (3-0, 3.22 ERA) will take the mound for the Yankees at Yankee Stadium and looks to remain undefeated at home, where he has a 1.50 ERA this season.
Cole has had three quality starts this season (I’m counting his 5.0 innings in the Opening Day rainout after six innings at Washington), and the Red Sox are 12th in the American League in runs scored. Ideal recipe for another dominant outing by one of the most feared pitchers in all of baseball.
UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Quarterfinals
FC Barcelona vs. Bayern Munich
Pick: FC Barcelona [+255]
This one is risky. Every fútbol hípster is going to tell you to ride the Bayern bandwagon, considering how threatening and solid they looked since the restart as Bundesliga champions and against Chelsea in the second leg of the Round of 16.
However, as shaky as the Barcelona defense is and despite Bayern being superior on paper, the Germans haven´t faced an opponent with the offensive caliber of Barcelona with Luis Suárez, Antoine Griezmann and, most importantly, a pissed off and determined Lionel Messi.
Messi showed that he is in top form against Napoli with a brilliant performance that included a gorgeous goal and should have included another if it wasn´t for VAR.
The best player in the world is going to pull of his magic and make a difference in the clutch.
