"Bet of the Day" Wins Again, Now 22-8 -- Pointspreads' Daily Betting Notes: Wednesday, Mar. 10th

NHL Mar 10, 2021

Daily Update:  Our complimentary BET OF THE DAY won again yesterday on the San Diego Padres -115 in the afternoon exhibition game (they defeated the Chicago White Sox 4-2), and is now on an 8-1 run. In the last month, our BET OF THE DAY has gone a blistering hot 22-8 on the free daily selections.

Major League Baseball

Major League Baseball is now into its second week of exhibition games.  Some teams take these pre-season games far more seriously than others.

Miami leads the Grapefruit League (played in Florida) standings with a 4-1 record, but Detroit is 6-2 with a +22 run differential – the second best in the majors. Meanwhile, the Chicago Cubs are atop the Cactus League (played in Arizona), currently at 6-2.  Milwaukee, at 6-3 leads the majors in run differential with +23.

The teams that appear to be great fades in exhibitions are the Chicago White Sox, which has won just once in seven tries.  Baltimore is nearly as bad, at 2-6 and has surrendered 17 runs more than they've scored.

Fading a team that's struggling right now is a good strategy for sports handicapping – consider fading these struggling teams.

NHL Odds and Notes

The NHL offers a lighter card than usual, just 5 games for Wednesday evening.  Four Canadian teams are active, including Ottawa at Edmonton and Montreal at Vancouver.  We liked the Senators on the puckline in the last matchup and will return to the wishing well again with the same wager as our Bet of the Day.

Ottawa has been a scrappy opponent despite their record (5-5 their last 10 games), while Edmonton continues to struggle.  After their 12/14 streak of wins in February, their last five contests have produced far less impressive results – no wins by more than a goal since the 25 Feb. game vs. Vancouver.  Senators should keep this one close tonight, and also look to be a solid value to win outright priced at +190.
