Betting Week 4 in the CFL
Four Games in Five Nights and Four Quick Predictions
Note: Pointspreads.ca analyzes and makes predictions on CFL games each week. So far in the 2022 regular season, our picks are 5 wins and 3 losses (+1.80 units). What follows is our writeup and CFL predictions and picks for Week 4.
The CFL schedule includes 4 games played over the next 5 nights.
On Thursday, Ottawa (0-2) comes off of a pair of close losses to top-ranked Winnipeg and is seeking its first win. Meanwhile the BC Lions are 2-0, but hit the road for the first time this year while playing on a short week.
On Friday, two winless teams -- the Elks and Ti-Cats meet on Canada Day. This isn't the ideal matchup for a national holiday since both teams have disappointing 0-3 records -- but one team will walk off the field with their first win,
On Saturday night, Montreal hosts Saskatchewan in a second game of a back-to-back duo of matches. The Alouettes (1-2) picked up their first win last week versus the Riders (now at 2-1). A sweep would be a stunning breakthrough for the long-suffering Montreal team.
Next Monday evening, the CFL week concludes with Winnipeg (3-0) at Toronto (1-1). This game means much more to the Argonauts, which must play much better than the embarrassing defeat they suffered last week. Beating the mighty Blue Bombers would be a huge step forward for Toronto.

Predictions (powered by Pointspreads.ca):
First – we'll anticipate the Redblacks continuing to improve and also cover +2.5 at BC. We also look for a shootout and the game to eclipse the highest total on the board at 47.
Then, we'll take another underdog the next night and bet on the Elks +6.5, who backdoored a late cover last week. Hamilton will probably get the win, but we don't see them as a TD better than the Elks.
We can't bet the Riders in what seems like a normal rebound spot following a loss. This is due to their injury concerns. So, let's take another barking dog with Montreal +4.5. The Als have to be feeling confident after last week's victory.
Finally, we'll bet our only favourite of Week 4 and play the Grey Cup champion Blue Bombers, who are laying only -5 (shouldn't this line be 6-7?) and look superior to Toronto in every way. We don't think the Argos can fix all their problems in one week's time.
That's five bets in five nights. Good luck!
