After starting the 2022 regular season on a tear, the Toronto Blue Jays suddenly find themselves dragging a 2-game losing streak. They've fallen out of first place in the AL East, and will face yet another tough foe in this weekend's series.
Houston visits Toronto on Saturday afternoon at Rogers Centre, just hours after rattling the Blue Jays' pitching staff in a breezy 11-7 victory on Friday. The opening pitch for game 2 gets thrown at 2:05 pm EDT.
While there's no reason yet for panic in Toronto, the Jays still want to avoid dropping 3 straight games. That's going to be a tough challenge given that the Astros are one of the AL's best teams and are now 9-5 on the road, this season. The Blue Jays took 2/3 in Houston from the Astros last weekend, and this could be a spot for revenge.
RHP Luis Garcia (1-0, 4.60 ERA, 14 SO) is scheduled to take the mound for the Astros, while RHP Jose Berrios (1-0, 4.91 ERA, 15 SO) hurls for the Blue Jays.
