IS IT TOO EARLY TO BET ON NEXT YEAR'S SUPER BOWL? NOT AT SPREADS.CA!
Guess who's favoured to win next year's Super Bowl.
Go ahead. Take a guess. It's probably not who you think.
First, let's get to who is not favoured. The reigning champion LA Rams are ranked third in the current odds, at +1200. The Kansas City Chiefs, always among the top NFL contenders, are ranked second, at +750. Oh, and if you want a laugh -- the Dallas Cowboys rank fourth among all teams, at +1400. Note that the poor Cowboys haven't make it to a conference championship game in this century. The year 1996 was their last championship appearance, let alone Super Bowl showing.
As to the betting favourite, the correct answer is -- the Buffalo Bills. Defeated in the divisional round of the playoffs last season, and losers in the AFC championship game a year before that, the betting public now thinks that 2022-23 will be the season when the long-suffering Bills finally win their first Super Bowl.
Obviously, these numbers are very fluid right now. Trades will be made. Injuries will happen. Perceptions change.
These odds are all available at Spreads.ca.
EXPERT OPINION (courtesy of Pointspreads.ca):
This is crazy to make a pick on next football season. What's not so crazy is trying to pluck value from such a huge basket of betting opportunities. So, let's do precisely that:
Pro Tip--Skip the favourites and instead focus on teams that could make a huge leap next season (New England Patriots at +2500). Pay attention to young, hungry teams like the LA Chargers (+2200). And it would really be smart to bet now on a team that could sign either Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers, who are both free agents. Denver Broncos at +2400 looks very tempting.
Note that you can bet on NFL futures and more all the way up until the season kick off, next September
