Since we're now looking into the future, here's some of the most attractive futures odds and possible bets at SPREADS.CA
NFL
With the NFL playoffs on the horizon, 18 teams are still legitimate Super Bowl contenders, as the winner is to be determined in just six weeks. The Kansas City Chiefs are the consensus pick to repeat, which is no surprise given they've lost just once this season and look terrific. But it's wide open beyond the Chiefs.
NBA
In the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers are the current prohibitive favourites, and then – it's everyone else. Brooklyn has overtaken Milwaukee as the favourites in the East. Off to a slow start, the Toronto Raptors have dropped from 20-1 down to 33-1.
NHL
We can't wait for the puck to drop with the NHL 2021 season opener, which is just two weeks away! In a bit a of surprise, money has flowed in on the Colorado Avalanche, who are now the Stanley Cup favourites. However, that could certainly change given how fragile things are with COVID and so many teams neck-a-neck in the odds. The Vegas Golden Knights are right there, also, and the reigning champion Tampa Bay Lightning round out the top three. Oh, and our beloved Toronto Maples Leafs are 14-1.
MLB
Let's not forget Major League Baseball, which starts a brand new season in March. As for betting futures, it's the 2019 world champion Los Angeles Dodgers who are the favourites, and then the New York Yankees (yawn – again) close in odds, who are always overvalued by the betting public. Baseball bettors also love the San Diego Padres and Tampa Bay Rays. The Toronto Blue Jays are currently in the middle of the pack, at 35-1.
