Betting on the League of Legends World Championship – Some Picks to Consider

League of Legends 2020 Worlds kicked off last month and it’s been one of the most exciting LoL events ever.

There are now only eight teams left as the Knockout Stage begins on Thursday.

Here’s a look at the remaining match-ups:

Suning (+130) vs JD Gaming (-165)

This Friday match-up in the best-of-five series may be the most interesting to watch. Suning should have upside coming off a big win over G2 in the group stage last week. Most were surprised when they topped their group, especially considering they had lost to G2 earlier in groups, but they showed remarkable determination, winning all but 2 matches in groups versus Liquid and G2. JD Gaming is the second seed out of Groups with a big win over DAMWON last
Friday that could set the tone for their quarterfinals. However, they will be hard-pressed to stop the powerhouse that is Suning.
Prediction: Suning 3-1

Top Esports (-875) vs Fnatic (+500)

On paper, this Saturday match-up should be perhaps the most interesting of the Knockout Stage. TES has a dominant 5-1 record so far with their only loss coming to FlyQuest last Sunday. However, Fnatic’s 4-2 record is nothing to scoff at, especially considering the opponents they faced. Though they lost out on the #1 seed with a loss last Saturday to Gen. G, the longer five game series is more their forte. Fnatic is one of only two teams left from the West and may be the only team with the skills to knock out the tournament favorites.
Prediction: Fnatic 3-2

Gen.G (-120) vs G2 Esports (+100)

G2’s 4-3 record in Groups is a hard sell, even if two of those losses came from Suning. They will need to replicate their performance of LEC Summer 2020 if they want to stay in Worlds. As the second remaining West team, they’re facing a lot of pressure. Meanwhile, Gen.G won their group, with their only loss coming at the hands of Fnatic, a shocking loss that they quickly rectified last Saturday, making quick work of Fnatic to show that their only groups loss was nothing but a stroke of good luck for the latter.

Prediction: Gen.G 3-1
