Lions and Stampeders Ready to Rumble in CFL's Saturday Night Showdown
B.C. visits Calgary on Saturday night in the first of three meetings between the conference rivals. The Lions return to McMahon Stadium again on Sept. 17 before the two teams will meet at B.C. Place Stadium on Sept. 24.
The BC Lions travel 600 miles east to Calgary for what's expected to be this week's most exciting game, that is, if you like lots of scoring.
Not only will we see the league's highest scoring team with BC putting up 36 PPG, we also get to witness a very likely early playoff peak as these two teams could be destined to kickoff together in the postseason.
The BC Lions (6-1, and second in the West) have looked phenomenal this season, except for that one beatdown defeat to undefeated Winnipeg three weeks ago. Meanwhile, the Calgary Stampeders (5-2, and third in the West) have a terrific chance to leapfrog the Lions and move into second place, which could be the key to hosting a home playoff game in the postseason.
This game has lots at stake and should also be fun to watch. So, let's make a wager (or two).
Saturday night's kickoff takes place at 5:00 pm MDT at Calgary's McMahon Stadium.
Here's a look at the odds according to Spreads.ca:

Prediction (powered by Pointspreads.ca):
The BC Lions are a slight -1 road favourite. The total is a CFL-season high of 53.5.
We see a shootout happening, and the BC Lions winning and covering the tiny number.
BC simply has too many offensive weapons right now. Their multi-talented receiver corps is just way too talented to cover or slow down, especially with a few key injuries to the Stamps defense. Both QBs can throw the ball and will rack up yards. We think the BC Lions at a minimum will reach their season scoring average (36), which means we just need 18 or so points from the Stamps to push the game total over the number.
The recommended bets are BC and the OVER.
