Make the NHL "Gimme' Bet"

NHL Oct 05, 2022

The Sharks and Predators are scheduled for an NHL double header this weekend, playing both Friday and Saturday at 11:00 am PT.

The 2022-23 NHL regular season begins Fri. Oct. 7th. The first puck gets dropped in the Czech Republic, of all places when the Predators open up versus the Sharks. A few days later, the Lightning visit the Rangers in the North America opener scheduled for Tues., Oct. 11th.

This marks the NHL’s return to Europe for the first time since the 2019-20 season, when the Czech capital city hosted that season's opener, as well. San Jose will be looking to jump start its season after missing the playoffs for three straight years.

All eyes will be on new general manager Mike Grier, who made some big offseason moves, including re-signing goalie Kaapo Kähkönen and trading six-time All-Star Brent Burns.

The NHL Global Series is an opportunity for the league to bring its product overseas to Europe to play NHL games in front of a different market. The league has been playing games internationally since the early 1990s.

Such a festive occasion calls for something special. has promos, bonuses, boosts, and even bets that can't lose, called "gimme' bets." For instance, you can get even money at the O/U of the opening game, which is 1 goal. That's right, the total is 1. Since there's no conceivable way for an NHL game to end in a 0-0 tie, this bet can't lose. The Preds-Sharks O/U at 1 is a $10 max. bet. at 2.0 odds (basically a free $10). Make the bet at and grab the free money -- a gimme'!

In fact, this year's 2022 NHL Global Series includes two games that will both count in the standings. These international regular season games between the Sharks and Predators will take place on Oct. 7th and 8th at O2 Arena in Prague. Props are already up at Obviously, there's a significant time difference involved if you plan to bet on and/or watch the games.

Nashville is favoured in both games at roughly the price of 1.58. That translates into about 2.42 as the return price on San Jose. Both games are totaled at 6 goals.

We see an opportunity to bet these games as a group. It's way too early to lay a heavy price on the Preds. Then, add lengthy travel, strange surroundings, different ice conditions, and other elements to the mix and betting the Sharks as underdogs seems to be worth a look.

We also like novelty games like this to go OVER the total. Players are often more aggressive in strange locales like outdoor games and neutral venues. So, we lean to two OVERs, as well.

That said, the best bet on the board is the Gimme' bet." That's a sure winner!
