An AL Championship Preview? Blue Jays Face Astros in 3-game series which starts on Friday
AL Championship preview, anyone?
Okay, so it's way too early to be talking about the American League playoffs and any possible championship matchups. However, let's dream, shall we? Would anyone be shocked to see the feisty Blue Jays taking on the evil Houston Astros this coming September?
For those of us eager to watch Toronto take on the AL's best teams, this weekend's series in Houston is a tasty appetizer. Both teams are in first place in their respective divisions at the moment.
Moreover, the Blue Jays remain the second odd-on choice to win the 2022 World Series. Spreads.ca currently lists Toronto's futures price at 8.00 (Risk $1 to get back $8). Houston is not to be overlooked, either. The Astors are the fourth most popular choice at 9.50 (Risk $1 to get back $9.50).
The first pitch gets thrown at 7:00 pm CST.

OPINION (powered by Pointspreads.ca):
Houston's Justin Verlander has dazzled in his first two starts, surrendering a combined one run across 13 innings. Of course, the 39-year-old right-hander isn’t going to sport an 0.69 ERA the rest of the way. However, he's in fine form and probably worth backing, even given the Blue Jays' potent bats.
We'll ride Verlander's arm in this game with our money, though our hearts might be with the Blue Jays.
