Nearing the All-Star Break, Blue Jays Reach Desperation Time
Blue Jays fans won't like this but this is a team to fade through the All-Star break. Toronto has dropped 10 of their last 13, while Kansas City is on a minor rush, winners of 6 of the last 8.
This has been a horrendous week for the Toronto Blue Jays and their fans.
The Jays lost 7 of their last 10 games. They fired their manager. That shakeup did no good as the lowly Kansas City Royals -- at 18 games under .500 and with ten players not making the trip into Canada due to strict COVID protocols -- beat up on the hapless Blue Jays in the first of a four-game weekend homestand.
This wasn't how things were supposed to go for the team many picked to win the AL this season.

The Blue Jays and Royals will play three more games, and it's long past time for Toronto to start performing up to high expectations.
However, even if they can regain some momentum, the second half of the season won't be easy.
Incredibly, every team in the AL East now has a winning record (even the Orioles). See the standings listed above.
There are many hurdles to overcome, both inside and outside the clubhouse.

The Royals' personnel problems give the underdog lots of added value on the moneyline, but this roster is capable of keeping things close when facing a team in a bad slump.
It might be piling on, but bet against Toronto until they show why they deserve to be favoured in these games.
