Today, we're examining the "Super Bowl Winner" options.  Here's a screen shot of the current odds at SPREADS.CA

Our objective here is simple.  Pick the Super Bowl winner.  So far, we've really made deep dives into futures and props.  But this one is as simple as it gets.

Every NFL season starts with futures on the championship.  All teams have a shot, but there are always public favourites which skew the odds.  As the season progresses, some teams are eliminated from contention, then with each playoff round, the field is thinned even further.

Oddly enough, even though there are now just 8 live teams instead of 32, the odds have changed all the much from a month ago.  And the pecking order of teams is about the same, as well.  Green Bay, Kansas City, Buffalo, and Tampa Bay remain the big four powerhouses in the NFL.

And another thing that hasn't changed – the Tennessee Titans still aren't getting much respect.  They are the 6th betting choice, even though they boasted the best record in the AFC and will enjoy home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Titans are +950 to win the Super Bowl.

OPINION ON BEST VALUES:

We tipped our hat in the previous section.  The Titans are the clear value on the board at the moment.  Having home field, a week of rest (the Titans had a first-round bye last week, along with the Packers), and a team that's built on playoff success (balanced offense and an improving defence) make Tennessee worth a serious look.

Let's also remember the Titans were underdogs to all four other teams still alive in the playoffs in games this regular season.  They were getting points vs. Buffalo (+6), Kansas City (+4), LA Rams (+7), and San Francisco (+3.5).  Tennessee not only covered the spread in all four games, they won each of those contests outright.

As for alternative choices, we can probably agree the LA Rams looked really good last week and have lots of weapons.  The road to a home-game Super Bowl will be tough, but this team appears to have a better shot than +750.

NOTE:  Over the next few weeks leading up to Super Bowl kickoff, we'll be examining some unusual wagering options at SPREADS.CA.  The Deep Dive bets include things like futures, propositions, and other exotics that aren't typically on the radar screen of most bettors.  But these hidden gems do provide some wonderful wagering opportunities and chances to profit.
