NHL Saturday Night: Flames Seek Revenge vs. Canucks

FLAMES SEEK REVENGE ON SATURDAY NIGHT VS. CANUCKS

The last time these two teams met, the Canucks hammered the Flames 7-1. That's been Calgary’s most lopsided loss of the season, so far. It also ended Calgary’s 10-game winning streak, a franchise-tying record.

On Saturday night, the Flames (37-16-7, 1st in Pacific Division) take to the road in Vancouver (30-25-7, 5th in Pacific Division) for the rematch. Oddly enough, there's probably more pressure on the underdog home team. Vancouver has just 20 games left in the season and likely needs to win nearly 3/4ths of those games to have any chance at making the playoffs.

Both teams are playing well lately, as Calgary is 7-3-0 in their last 10, while the Canucks have gone 6-3-1 in that stretch.

The puck drops Saturday night at 7 pm local time at Rogers Arena

OPINION (courtesy of Pointspreads.ca):

Calgary is a 1.74 favourite, which we think provides some value.  That price comes back at 2.15 on Vancouver.

The Flames enjoy a decided edge in scoring and overall consistency (+64 goal differential, as opposed to +1 for the Canucks).

Good teams tend to have long memories and the Flames will remember being destroyed by 6 goals in their last meeting.

Look for Calgary to get its revenge and get the win here, so we'll lay the favourite.
