Major League Baseball
Major League Baseball is now just two weeks away from opening day, on April 1st.
As we've posted here before, it remains profitable to bet on the hot teams that appear to take these "meaningless" games more seriously than their opponents who do not.
For example, the Kansas City Royals have been the best team in the majors, going a blistering 12 win and just 4 losses, including multiple wins as an underdog. The always-overhyped NY Yankees are 11-4, and still would have returned a profit, despite being favoured in many of their games. Also, the reigning world champion Los Angeles Dodgers lead the Cactus League at 7-4. One surprise has been the Miami Marlins, who have gone a very solid 7-2 in fewer games on a limited schedule.
Conversely, the Baltimore Orioles are just 4-11 in preseason and are probably a team to fade the rest of the way, that is, when the price is right. The same goes for the struggling 4-11 Cincinnati Reds, worst in the Cactus League.
Question: Why are the ChiSox (4-8) favoured today over the Los Angeles Dodgers (8-5)? That might be worth a look and a wager. Same with Cincinnati being favoured over Cleveland.

NHL Odds and Notes
Wednesday lists six games on the ice – half of them in the North Division.
Three games are scheduled in Canada, while the first-place Toronto Maple Leafs get yet another night off. Look at the Winnepeg Jets, winners of 8/11 who have moved into second place. They're coming off a loss to Montreal two nights ago and are dogs tonight, despite the better record. Edmonton, which appears to be back in the scoring groove, is an underdog at Calgary – and probably worthy of consideration.

NBA Odds and Notes
Wednesday night features ten games the NBA court.
Purely from a spectator point of view, let along gambling on the games, this is a great night for basketball. The red-hot Miwaukee Bucks are favoured over the Philadelphia 76ers, which is one of the night's premier matchups. Dallas hosts the LA Clippers in one of the better Western Conference rivalries. Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets are setting dubious records for futiluty, losers of 17 straight games. They host the Golden State Warriors tonight as 12.5-point underdogs.
