The Cherry Pick: Leafs
Don Cherry's NHL Pick for Thursday
(Posted Record Here at Pointspreads.ca: 12 wins / 7 losses)
Here is my pick for the Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Toronto Maple Leafs game:
The Leafs play well against the top teams and struggle against the lower teams. Good thing the Leafs are not playing Buffalo in the playoffs.
The Leafs and Tampa should be a great game. This is a preview of the 1st round of the playoffs, so messages are going to be sent. The Leafs are on a roll with a 8-1-1 record in their last 10 games.
On the other hand, as of late Tampa is struggling, going just 4-4-2 in their last 10 games.
The Leafs have beaten the Lighting two out of three games this year, and their power play is clicking along at a 50 percent pace against Tampa. No doubt Tampa will want to get out of their funk with a win tonight, but I don’t think so.
The Leafs pay 2.50 on the moneyline, so I’ll take that bet.
The Cherry Pick: Toronto (2.50 on the moneyline)
