There's No Place Like Home for the Carolina Hurricanes
Locked up at 2-2, in the "to win the series" odds, the Hurricanes are currently the 1.68, while the Rangers are 2.25. Game 5 on Thursday night will be huge.
After the 4-1 loss to the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, the Hurricanes mysteriously fell to 0-5 on the road this postseason.
However, Carolina has been stellar on their home ice. The Hurricanes have gone a perfect 6-0 at home during these Stanley Cup Playoffs, keeping the team alive despite its struggles away from PNC Arena.
Now knotted up at 2-2 in their best-of-seven series, the Hurricanes and Rangers will meet in Raleigh for Game 5 on Thursday before heading back to New York for Game 6 on Saturday.
If recent history is any indication, NHL fans should get ready for a Game 7 between the two teams at PNC Arena next Monday.
The pucks drops at 7:00 pm EST.
Spreads.ca makes Carolina 1.60 favourites. The O/U is the lowest we've seen for any postseason game, at just 5 goals.

Prediction (powered by Pointspreads.ca):
It's not just that Carolina plays far bettor at home. NY Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin’s NHL playoff numbers also show a tale of two cities. At home, he’s 5-1 with a .941 save percentage and 2.04 GAA. But on the road, the favorite in the Vezina Trophy odds is only 1-3 with a 3.22 GAA and .873 save percentage.
These numbers don't lie. We have to go with the obvious choice, which is Carolina.
