They're Back on Top! Does Kansas City Deserve to be Super Bowl Favourites?

That's the Kansas City Chief's current win streak, after Patrick Mahomes & Company roared back to win in last night's epic overtime showdown versus division rival Los Angeles (Chargers).

According to some metrics, that places the Chiefs now in the statistical favourite role to win the Super Bowl.  That's quite a big move based on one close win, but hey, the number's don't like.  While Tampa Bay, Green Bay, and New England may have something to say about being dissed by the prognosticators, there's no doubt that Kansas City has turned it's season around in a big way after being in last place in early October and considered by some to be on the downslide.

Patrick Mahomes battles adversity to lead Chiefs' comeback at Chargers

It was everything we hoped for in a Thursday night game, and then some.

The Chiefs walked off the victory with a 34-yard game-winning touchdown catch from tight end Travis Kelce.  Kelce proved to be the big difference for Kansas City.  He hauled in 10 passes for a whopping 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

This one had to hurt extra badly for the Chargers, because they had Kansas City on the ropes late in the fourth quarter.  With Los Angeles up 28-21 and 1:48 left in the game, Mahomes hit Hill for a 20-yard gain on third-and-10.  Then two plays later, facing a second-and-9 from the Chargers' 39, a 32-yard run from Mahomes' set up his game-tying touchdown pass to Kelce with 1:16 left in regulation.

The Chiefs then won the coin toss at the start of overtime, and Justin Herbert and the Chargers didn't even get to touch the ball.  

With the win, the Chiefs, now 10-4, have become the favorite to win Super Bowl LVI, according to -- Sportsline.

Before the game, Sportsline's simulation model gave Kansas City a 12.2 percent chance at winning it all.  Following the victory, their chances got bumped up to 16.7 percent -- higher than any team in the league.
