In what has been a fun couple of days of playoff hockey, the action should continue to be high in quality.  What does that mean for your money, and who should you bet on?

Here is a breakdown to help you decide who has the best chances to win.

All odds as of Wednesday morning from SPREADS.CA

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

The Columbus Blue Jackets and Tampa Bay Lightning face each other in a crucial game five for Columbus.

In the last contest between these two teams, Tampa Bay took control of the series. Goals by Barclay Goodrow and Yanni Gourde each had a goal and an assist. Cam Atkinson scored the lone goal for the blue jackets, at the 5:48 mark in the third period.

Nevertheless, it was not enough for Columbus, who wasted a strong effort from goalie Joonas Korpisalo. If commerce wants to win, they need to rely on a strong performance from Korpisalo

PREDICTION:  With how Tampa Bay has been playing, I would feel comfortable taking them -1.5 at +152. Columbus may come into this game with a greater sense of urgency, but the experience of Tampa Bay will help them get the job done.

Boston Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes also find themselves in an elimination situation in their game with the Boston Bruins. After a strong first two periods, things came apart in the later stages of the game.

Justin Williams and Jordan Martinook scored the first two goals, and Carolina looked to be in complete control. The Bruins managed to rally behind goals from Jake Debrusk, Brad Marchand, and Connor Clifton. With the win, Boston asserted their dominance and took complete control of the series.

PREDICTION:  I like Boston in this game at -1.5 at +178. Barring anything unforeseen, Boston would be a safe bet in this game on the moneyline [-145] if you’re feeling slightly risk averse.

Arizona Coyotes vs. Colorado Avalanche

The Arizona Coyotes are on the brink of elimination as they take on the Colorado Avalanche. In what was a difficult game for Arizona, Colorado looks to advance to the next round.

Cale, Matt Calvert, and Miko Ratigan all had a goal and an assist, and what was an offensive explosion for Colorado. Nazem Kadri was the true star of the game, as he scored two goals in addition to and exist.

It was a difficult night for Coyotes goalie Darcy Kuemper, while Arizona’s offensive output came courtesy of Jakob Chychrun. He scored his first goal and first playoff point in defeat.

PREDICTION:  Given the firepower Colorado possesses, it would be difficult to bet anything other than the Avalanche. They are the clear favourites and have depth at several key positions. With how strong they have played over the past couple of games, I would feel comfortable taking them -1.5 at +119 and seeing them send the Coyotes packing.
