Olympic Showdown in Beijing
In Olympic hockey, Team Canada's breezed to an easy 5-1 victory over Germany on Thursday at the Beijing Games. The game wasn't even that lose. The hockey victory capped off a great day for Canadian Olympians on Day 6. Canadians won four medals – two silvers and two bronzes, plus advanced in the men's hockey tourney.
However, there's little time to celebrate. Up next, Canada is scheduled to face Team USA at 11:10 pm ET on Friday, before closing out round-robin play in Group A against China at 8:10 am ET on Sunday.
While Team Canada looked impressive earlier today, the Americans were equally as formidable in an 8-0 thumping of Team China Group A's other game.
That now sets up an exciting closing weekend in men's hockey. The much anticipated Olympic gold-medal game is slated for 11:10 am ET on Feb. 19 at the National Indoor Stadium.
