NBA WEDNESDAY NIGHT: RAPTORS SEEK TO TAME THE TIMBERWOLVES
When NBA schedule-makers penciled in Wednesday night's interconference matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves (43-33 and 7th in the West) at the Toronto Raptors (43-32 and 6th in the East) little did anyone know both teams would be on the cusp of playoff qualification.
At present, the surprising T'wolves are just two games behind Denver and have done 6-4 in their last ten games. With the season close to winding down, Minnesota will need to knock off a few tough teams in the next few weeks, and the Raptors certainly fit the bill as a major obstacle.
As for Toronto, this has been one of the NBA's hottest teams during the past month, winners of 8/10 and currently riding a three-game winning streak. Cleveland stands just half a game back of the streaking Raptors in the East.
Tip-off is at 6:30 pm ET.
OPINION (powered by Pointspreads.ca):
Minnesota has struggled on the road this season where they're just 18-20 overall.
With Toronto playing so well and at home, we see the Raptors as a strong wager. Laying only -2.5 looks like a bargain, even with some lingering injuries on the Toronto bench. A few players missing games recently hasn't hurt the team's effort, so we'll back the Raptors who look very well-rounded and are improving as the season progresses.
Take the fave and lay the points.
