Will Betting on the Nuggets Turn into Gold?

Just 24 hours after playing a road game at Phoenix, things don't get any easier for the Toronto Raptors (36-30) on Saturday night.
This time, they'll face yet another top team in the Western Conference as the next opponent, the Denver Nuggets (40-27), are a scorching 8-2 in their last ten games. Like the mighty Suns, the Nuggets are also one of the league's best home teams, with a 20-12 record.
Schedule makers aren't doing the Raptors any favors here, with the visitor playing their 3rd game in 4 nights (Toronto also played a road game in San Antonio on Wednesday).
Meanwhile, the host team will have a day of rest coming off an ugly 11-point loss at home to Golden State on Thursday night.
These two teams played in Toronto a month ago, as the Nuggets beat the Raptors 110-109 in the closing seconds.
Spreads.ca lists this game at Denver -5.5 with a betting total of 225. Tipoff in the Mile-High City is at 9:00 pm ET.
OPINION (courtesy of Pointspreads.ca):
The Raptors against-the-spread results are much better than you might think. Toronto is an impressive 21-7 ATS in their last 27 games against winning teams. They're also 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games against teams above .600.
Those impressive numbers are hard to fade.
However, we think the fatigue factor will be big here with both travel and high altitude. It doesn't help Toronto's chances that Denver is coming off a home loss and could be extra motivated to return into the win column.
Laying the -5.5 points on the favourite is probably the wiser play. A moneyline wager on the Nuggets might also be worth a look.
